EIDA and Abu Dhabi Police organize ID Forum next February

Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) and Abu Dhabi Police have announced that 'Citizen ID' Forum will be held in Abu Dhabi on 25 and 26 February 2008 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of EIDA.

This follows the UAE participation in the last session of the Forum which was held at Milan, Italy where the UAE undertook the responsibility for organizing the next session from the Italian Minister for Public Administration Reforms and Innovations, Mr. Luigi Nicolais who delivered this assignment to the UAE representatives: H.E. Brig. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, General Director of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, Member of EIDA Board of Directors and H.E. Darwish Ahmed Al Zaraouni, General Manager of EIDA.

In an official statement, the Italian Minister for Public Administration Reforms and Innovations said "The UAE has become one of the leading fast growing countries worldwide in terms of its existing projects in the field of infrastructure development. They give high priority to services development both in the public and private sectors. The UAE is also among the pioneering countries to introduce state of the art projects in individual identity verification". He added "The next session, hosted by the UAE, will be the center of attention of all experts and interested parties in this sector throughout the world and will witness extensive positive participation."

It is expected that the forum, which is organized by "Wise Media" an International company specialized in organizing exhibitions and activities, will be held in Abu Dhabi in the presence of international experts and specialists in the smart Identity card industry, as many work papers will be presented to show multi expertise and experiments from all over the world.

On this occasion, the United Arab Emirates, represented by the Emirates Identity Authority and Abu Dhabi Police, will present its sophisticated expertise in the smart ID cards industry and identify individuals' identity using the state of the art technologies, in addition to the electronic systems which will upgrade the governmental performance in the State, on the top of which comes the Population Register & ID Card Program as an integrated and reliable source for support of decision making and strategic planning of the United Arab Emirates.
