SIB wins the Wachovia Bank Award for the Best Financial Institution

Again this year Sharjah Islamic Bank has won the Best Financial Institution Award for the accuracy of its fund transfer services in the United Arab Emirates granted by Wachovia.

Wachovia is the 4th largest US bank and is ranked 46th on the Fortune 500 list. In addition to its US operation, Wachovia provides financial services for partner banks all over the world.

Sharjah Islamic Bank was recognized by Wachovia for its meticulous and accurate fund transfer services that were more accurate than other partnering banks around the world.

Commenting on the award, Mr. Mohammed Abdullah, CEO of Sharjah Islamic Bank, said that the award was the product of a coherent operation involving the Bank?s major departments, such as Operations, IT, Communications and Customer Service, which operate within a precise banking system to achieve the highest service standards and maintain accurate and easy processing of financial transactions and fund transfers.

Speaking of the value of the award, Mr. Mohammed Abdullah added, ?The Wachovia Award has a special status due to its global dimension and the accurate criteria it employs in selecting the financial institutions that deserve it?.

Mr. Mohammed Abdullah also commended SIB staff and thanked them for their collective performance, cooperative spirit and for operating as one professional team to deliver first class fund transfer services. This in effect enhances the bank's credibility and translates into action the bank's motto that it exceeds expectations.
