JW Marriott Dubai's close link with Australia began with the hotel hosting the annual Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) Black Box cooking competition for young chefs. Over the last four years this competition has been sponsored by MLA and supported by the Australian Government.

Due to this collaboration Executive Chef Ingo Maass and his team at the hotel has seen the demand and popularity for Australian products here in Dubai. Ingo's visits to Australia over the past 17 years also gave him first hand taste of the best produce and ingredients available in the country. Meeting the suppliers personally he says is an added bonus.

"Australia supplies some of the best and freshest products in the market and we want to highlight this to our guests," says Ingo. For these two months our guests will experience the best products and ingredients from Down Under highlighted on the menu at three of our restaurants with the "Taste of Australia" promotion.

The Australian food promotion at JW Marriott Dubai will be offered in the hotel's signature restaurant, JW's Steakhouse; the all day dining, Market Place and Champions Sports Bar.

These three restaurants will be the focus of the promotion using local produce and ingredients from Australia.
1) The Market Place with its live cooking stations will highlight a wide range of Australian seafood products every week from Southern Rock Lobsters, various types of fish such as King George Whiting from the crystal clean waters of the South Australia, King Crabs also from the cold depths of South Australia's ocean. Other specialties to be featured will be Spencer Gulf Prawns and famous Coffin Bay Oysters, both from South Australia. Sensational Tasmanian Salmon and King Island Cheese will also be showcased. Meat products such as Crocodile, Emu and Kangaroo will also be available on the buffet and live cooking stations for guests to enjoy the freshness of these products.

2) JW's Steakhouse will be serving fine beef and lamb products including 250-day grain fed Angus from Queensland, Wagyu, Tasmanian Angus King Island lamb and selected quality fishes from both Tasmania and South Australia like "Blue Eye Travella." JW's Steakhouse will also host three exclusive dinners paired with select beverages from Australia during this two-month promotion.

3)Champions Sports Bar will serve traditional Aussie pub grub including chicken pies, mince meat pies, sausage puffs and burgers.

JW Marriott Dubai will also host several Australian celebrations in the hotel during the
Taste of Australia promotion. Some of the confirmed events are:
Tuesday, 22nd January - ANZA Ladies Cooking Demonstration & Lunch with Ingo Maass (private event).
