Explaining the significance of this change, H.E. Sayyid Khalid Hamad Hamood Al Busaidi, Chairman of Ahli Bank, said,
"The new identity is a milestone which represents the underlying values of the Bank that have resulted in its success to date over the past 10 years, as well as a milestone from which to look ahead towards a bright future with focus on customer orientation delivered with unrelenting expertise and innovative ideas."
"We attribute every success achieved by our bank, to our wise government of which everybody in Oman feels proud of. I thank the Central Bank of Oman who has supported us in our endeavor to contribute to the promising future of Omanis and the nation, led by the government under the visionary leadership of H.M. Sultan Qaboos Bin Said."
"Over the past few months, we have undergone the most extensive change process in our history. This has entailed the bank's strategic-partnership with Ahli United Bank and International Finance Corporation (IFC), taking the route of becoming a fully-fledged Omani commercial bank. We aim to adopt best practices to enhance our products, services and branches through a customer-centric approach. Our new identity is a firm statement of our pledge to a new era in our history and above all our commitment to people.'
'We are very serious and committed to translate the values of our new identity into reality. In that sense, this is a very significant moment for us because it represents more
than just a change in our name, stresses H.E. Al Busaidi. 'Ahli Bank is our new promise to deliver the highest standards of commercial banking in Oman - with regional and global strength, synergies and expertise of our partners, with products and services that cater to the Omani market needs, while maintaining the localness of the bank. Ahli Bank brings to Oman the most advanced financial services customized to customer needs in full range of retail, private and corporate banking, with an extra service where you can bank with us in the region and the UK."
But this promise is not limited only to the bank's customers, employees and shareholders. 'Our commitment today is to the nation as a whole, for we realise that our progress and that of the country is interwoven,' said H.E. Al Busaidi. 'Under the leadership of H.M. Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the growth in Oman's economy and industry provides a conducive environment and framework for the banking industry to be able to serve the Omani nationals as well as expatriates. We take this opportunity to go beyond banking and as part of our corporate social responsibility, initiate more programs to return back to this society and contribute to the nation's development. We hope that we will be able to serve the nation, its people and all the residents in the Sultanate."
