Tanmia facilitates job opportunities within Al Rostamani Group

Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority in the UAE, has announced that it has recently facilitated an employment campaign that provided an opportunity to some 200 applicants to find suitable jobs within Al Rostamani Group, one of the largest conglomerates in the UAE.

A total of 25 job positions were made available during Al Rostamani's 'Open Day' activity held yesterday January 06th, 2008 at the Al Tawar Public Library in Dubai, where the successful applicants were admitted to a Work Program specially developed in collaboration with the National Institute for Vocational Education that would prepare the prospects for their new jobs. The trainees will get international recognized intermediary Diploma in different fields according to both the jobs they will be accepted to and their desired professions.

"We are delighted to cooperate with Al Rostamani for this important activity, which is in line with Tanmia's objectives of helping create suitable employment opportunities for the national workforce. Bridging the gap between employers and the national labour market will be a major contributing factor to strengthening the UAE's economy," said Ahmad Al Ahmadi, Manager, Tanmia's Dubai Office.

The day-long activity included a presentation that introduced Al Rostamani Group and its various business ventures to the job applicants. Also discussed were the nature of jobs being offered and the Work Program in which all qualified candidates will have to undergo. The applicants also underwent an extensive interview session, which was one of the primary grounds for qualification.

"Al Rostamani strongly supports Tanmia's initiatives to develop the country's human resources. It is our aim to provide opportunities to those who are willing to give their best and contribute to the continued success of our company and the country," said Feras T. Mahmoud, HR Department Training and Quality Manager, Al Rostamani Group.

Dr. Naji Al Mahdi, Executive Manager, National Institute for Vocational Education commented: "The UAE's sustained growth relies on the vision and hard work of its people. We thank Al Rostamani and Tanmia for sharing this belief, and we shall do our part by providing high-quality vocational education and training programs that fulfills the job market requirement and help strengthen the foundation of the UAE's national labour force."

He added: ''At NIVE, we endeavour to provide the market with competent nationals. We also offer and educational and training programs designed specifically to prepare job seekers and develop employees for a productive and competitive role in the workplace. We provide them with the skills that are needed to make them competitive at international levels and equip them to participate in the knowledge economy."

Al Rostamani Group, which employs a workforce of over 3,000 people, is celebrating 50 years of successful business ventures in the UAE and across the GCC region. The Group has a broad spectrum of business interests, which include light and heavy vehicles, spare parts and services, foreign exchange, travel, real estate, construction equipment and supplies, electronic communications, infrastructure development, and general trading.

Tanmia has been the driving force behind the creation of a strong national workforce. Established by a Presidential decree in November 1999 to help spur the participation of UAE nationals in the labour market, Tanmia is engaged in a coordinating role between national job seekers and employers in the private and government sectors.

About Tanmia

Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development & Employment Authority in the UAE, was established by a Presidential decree in November 1999, to address the imbalance in the labour market, due to excessive dependence on expatriate workforce. Tanmia is engaged in a coordinating role, between national job seekers and employers in the private and government sectors, to facilitate increased entry of nationals in the labour market.
