A new report said the six Gulf capital markets raised more than $175bn last year through debt, equity, project finance and syndicated loans, reported Gulf News. The Thomson-IFR Gulf Capital Markets Briefing showed that regional corporate loans increased by 38% last year from $77bn in 2006 to $106bn, with substantial increase in the average loan size. International banks led all categories in capital raising, but some regional banks such as Gulf International Bank and Arab Banking Corporation scored deals over the $1bn mark last year.
