Emirates Bank main sponsor of the Liwa Festival and Desert Challenge

Emirates Bank, an Emirates NBD company, demonstrated once again its dedication to the residents of Abu Dhabi and neighboring areas with its title sponsorship of the Liwa Festival.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jamal Bin Ghalaita, Emirates NBD General Manager Consumer Banking and Wealth Management commented, "Emirates NBD's sponsorship of the Liwa Festival is proof of its commitment towards the community of Abu Dhabi's western region. The festival is a celebration of the culture and heritage of the region and with Emirates NBD committed to being title sponsors for the next two years as well, attendees to this popular festival can look forward to more fun, excitement and prizes in future editions of this event.
As the title sponsors, Emirates NBD went the extra mile to ensure that its customers enjoyed the best possible privileges at the Festival. A shuttle service was made available on all six days from Abu Dhabi to Liwa and back, ensuring that those attending the event made the three hour journey in comfort. At the event itself, the bank had arranged for a traditional Al Shaheen Majlis for its VIP guests, enhancing the traditional feel of the festival. The final day saw prizes and trophies being handed out to the winners amidst much fanfare, fireworks and celebrations. A 4 wheel prize was given to the best car timing, and a motorcycle given to the best bike timing in addition to cash prizes for the rest of the winners. Along with all these prizes, Emirates Bank offered free hot-air balloon and Hummer rides to the winners.
The Liwa Festival included a variety of events that captivated the crowd who made their way to the beautiful oasis from Abu Dhabi and the surrounding region. The festival included traditional sports like a shooting championship, falcon hunting, camel races, horse races as well as other popular sports like remote controlled cars, Moreeb Dune Cars and a motorbike championship.
