The Second International Liwa Festival, which took place from Dec 30 to Jan 04 has maintained a serious following over the years amongst the local community and reached unprecedented heights this year in providing action and entertainment.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jamal Bin Ghalaita, Emirates NBD General Manager Consumer Banking and Wealth Management commented, "Emirates NBD's sponsorship of the Liwa Festival is proof of its commitment towards the community of Abu Dhabi's western region. The festival is a celebration of the culture and heritage of the region and with Emirates NBD committed to being title sponsors for the next two years as well, attendees to this popular festival can look forward to more fun, excitement and prizes in future editions of this event.

As the title sponsors, Emirates NBD went the extra mile to ensure that its customers enjoyed the best possible privileges at the Festival. A shuttle service was made available on all six days from Abu Dhabi to Liwa and back, ensuring that those attending the event made the three hour journey in comfort. At the event itself, the bank had arranged for a traditional Al Shaheen Majlis for its VIP guests, enhancing the traditional feel of the festival. A 4 wheel prize was given to the best car timing, and a motorcycle given to the best bike timing in addition to cash prizes for the rest of the winners. Along with all these prizes, Emirates Bank offered free hot-air balloon and Hummer rides to the winners.
