3i Infotech moves up to 3rd position in MENA EAS market

Based on the recent available figures, IDC has ranked 3i Infotech third, after Oracle and SAP.

The previous year, IDC had ranked 3i Infotech as fourth biggest in the region, but a growth of 41.3 per cent in 2006 ensured its upgraded rank.

Hari Padmanabhan, Deputy Managing Director, 3i Infotech explained this upward movement due to the fact that the company has been taking a more vertically-specific approach in the market and has been particularly successful in the finance sector, logistics, process manufacturing and automobile sector.

Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) are the most popular functional markets in the region, whilst the financial and process manufacturing vertical markets are the biggest spenders, followed by the governmental sector, discrete manufacturing, retail and telecoms.

"Customers are looking at an integrated value chain solution encompassing SCM, CRM and their in-enterprise processes in a single integrated solution - also achieves this at a cost point 'go live' time line, unmatched by competition." Padmanabhan concluded.
