IT outsourcing grows in the UAE

Outsourcing is a fast growing part of the IT services business in the UAE and the market will stem from the increased adoption of information systems outsourcing contracts and greater services investment by small and medium-sized businesses, Raqmiyat, a UAE-based systems integrator, said. Tapas Roy, chief operating officer of Raqmiyat, a primary IT company of the Al Ghurair Group, said that IT services providers should streamline their operations and focus on alliances to take advantage of the technology.

According to an IDC report, the country's IT services market is set for tremendous growth, increasing to $796.71m in 2010, an increase of 57 per cent from $507.81m in 2006, says a top official at Raqmiyat.
