RTA calls for child safety in vehicles

  • United Arab Emirates: Sunday, January 13 - 2008 at 11:10

The UAE's & Transport Authority (RTA) warned parents against the gravity of using their kids, unknowingly, as a protective cushion. This is typically demonstrated in having either parent holding an infant in their laps while seated in the front seat. For in case of an accident, the infant will be ejected from the lap of his parent to collide with the dashboard, immediately followed by the body of the parent, who will cause an immense impact and severe hit to the fragile body of the infant. Engineer Badr Al Sairi, Director of Traffic Dep't at RTA Traffic & Roads Agency, stated that RTA is keen to fulfill its vision of providing 'safe & smooth transport for all'.
