IWED boosts an estimated $500m per year Qatari wedding industry

The International Wedding Exhibition and Fashion Show (IWED) takes place at the New Qatar International Exhibition Center from 4th to 7th May 2008, organizer Qatar Expo announced.

Brides, bridegrooms and their families will get an advanced look at the hottest new wedding styles when more than 100 of the best local, regional and international wedding companies and an expected 20,000 visitors converge on the 4-day one stop wedding shop, featuring ideas and designs to ensure the perfect wedding.

"IWED is set to become one of the Middle East's leading wedding events, and a favorite of Qatari brides. The Qatari wedding industry alone is now worth US$500 million per year. We realized that most of the weddings organized are handled by outside wedding organizers while some of the local organizers have not been updated with the latest technologies and trends " commented Fernando De Guama - Director Exhibitions and Events

With the average Qatari wedding now costing over $80,000, IWED has attracted leading wedding organizers and designers from the Lebanon, UAE, Italy, New Zealand, India and Hong Kong.

"IWED will feature the very best international wedding products here in Doha. While there will be a strong focus on European design, notably French and Italian, these will feature alongside the latest and best ideas from the Middle East. There will be so much going on at IWED, you could literally plan your entire wedding in one day," added Qatar Expo Director of Exhibitions, Fernando De Guama.

IWED 08 would like to thank its loyal sponsors: Grand Regency Halls our official sponsor, Be Bloom our beauty sponsor while we have a wide range of Media Sponsors as: Qatar Tribune, Al Watan, Jameela, Lamasat, Glam, Women Today, Isdarat Dar Al Sharq.
