- Kuwait: Tuesday, January 15 - 2008 at 15:47
- PRESS RELEASE
Traders on Kuwait's Stock Exchange (KSE) today applauded the close of the trading session, following a phenomenal response to Jazeera Airways' first day on the KSE - the only airline to be listed.
Jazeera Airways' Chairman and CEO Marwan Boodai, NBK Capital's CEO Salah Al Fulaij and Vice Chairman Sheikha Al Bahar, together rang the closing bell, prompting traders to break into spontaneous applause.
Jazeera Airways is the only airline in the Middle East that is neither owned nor subsidized by any government.
The airline began operations on October 30, 2005 and has witnessed phenomenal growth since then, including 25 non-stop destinations, a current fleet size of six brand new Airbus A320s and the opening of an additional hub in Dubai. The airline's paid-up capital is KD20m.
