TECOM Investments shares best business excellence practices with UAE Ministries

In coordination with the UAE Ministry of Development for Government Sector and the Dubai School of Government, high level delegations from several UAE Ministries conducted benchmarking visits to TECOM Investments, a member of Dubai Holding, from 25-27 December, 2007.
A high-ranking TECOM Investments team received the delegation and shared best practices in partnership and resource management criteria. Some of the focus areas included sustainable development, implementation of EHS (environment, health and safety) standards, interaction with governmental and non-governmental departments, knowledge Management, finance and the effective deployment of IT systems.
Abdullatif AlMulla, Chief Executive Officer, TECOM Investments, said: "The benchmarking initiative is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote greater cooperation between the government and private sector to build a culture of creativity, commitment and excellence. As a prelude to enrolling in the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme, UAE Ministries have been conducting benchmarking visits to private sector organizations to better understand their experience in achieving workplace excellence. The programme seeks to achieve performance excellence in the government sector, through the application of a universal model. It includes the launch of a variety of initiatives, including ongoing development programmes.
TECOM Investments is ISO 9001 and 14001 certified and the recipient of Dubai Government Excellence Programme's Best Employee Satisfaction Award in 2005 and 2006, as well as the Dubai Human Development Award in 2006.
