Abu Dhabi Sports Council's Mohammad E. Al Mahmood heaps praise on Championship

With birdies, bunkers and bogeys keeping spectators entertained on course, the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship was today commended for its off-the-course role in solidifying the UAE capital's burgeoning reputation as an internationally renowned sports events power.

"It is my first time here representing Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and it is great to see such a huge event in Abu Dhabi. It is an unbelievable Championship, and is growing from year to year," said Mohammad E. Al Mahmood, General Secretary, Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

"In partnership with Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority - which has again done an amazing job putting on this great Championship - we are building an exciting portfolio of world-class sporting events in the UAE capital, and the Golf Championship is a vital component in our strategy to promote Abu Dhabi as a world-class sporting destination."
