During a media conference held at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Simon Kang, CEO LG's Digital Display Company, said that LG plans to become one of the top three global TV makers in 2008. This success, he said, will be based on new LCD and plasma TVs with innovative designs and upgraded features as well as more aggressive marketing.

'I am proud to introduce our new flagship flat panel TVs, the LG60 LCD TV and PG60 plasma TV,' said Mr. Kevin Cha, General Manager of the LGE Amman Branch.

'These models are based around insight from our customers. They strike an ideal balance between design and technology, with each complementing the other. These two TVs will reinforce our premium marketing messages. LG will change the landscape of the flat panel TV industry by presenting exceptional products, which offer more than consumers basically expected.'

Of these 17 million TVs, 14 million will be LCD models and 3 million will be plasma models. To achieve its ambitious sales goal in 2008, LG will concentrate on product leadership, profitability and stronger marketing. More detailed information on LG's new flagship flat panel TVs follows: -LG60: Distinctive Looks, Superb Features LG's striking new LG60 LCD TV, the Intelligent Fashion Icon, is the slimmest TV available but still manages to include the latest, most intelligent features. Built around 120 Hz Full HD LCD panel, the LG60 provides incredibly smooth pictures quality, even with fast moving action in movies, sports and games

LG60 adds drama to daily TV watching by offering multi-sensorial pleasure. While subtle red light comes from around the black edges of the TV, a hole in the base of the TV is surrounded by LED lights that give viewers a subtle indication of the TV's status. And magic sound generates when the TV is turned on.

Meanwhile, an Intelligent Sensor automatically adjusts the TV's brightness according to available light, offering optimized picture quality and reducing power consumption by 50 percent. With LG's Invisible Speakers, the LG60 delivers clear sound with a wide sweet spot, while maintaining a seamless look

The model, which has been developed to give its audience an optimal viewing experience, boasts exceptional picture tuning functions: AV Mode and Expert Mode. The AV Mode optimizes the picture into Cinema Mode, Sports Mode and Game Mode accordingly while the Menu of LG Expert mode was certificated by the ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) picture quality calibration institution, making it possible to finely tune the picture at a professional level.

The TV's looks are as impressive as its features. At only 45 mm (1.77 inches) deep, it is almost unimaginably thin. A red line surrounds the LG60's frame, which is accented by circular space below the screen, adding to the TV's fashion appeal.

PG60: Minimalist Approach (Honoree of the Best of Innovation Award)

The award-winning PG60, LG's new plasma TV, has a clean, bezel-less design made possible through LG's advanced technology. Incorporating Single Layer technology, LG removed usual gap between the screen and the housing, making the set appear to be an elegant, seamless sheet of glass. Embracing simple and stylish aesthetics, this window-like TV boasts sleek style, without standing out.

LG's PG60 is more than just a pretty face; it also includes industry-leading technologies to provide consumers with the best possible picture quality. The PG60 has a contrast ratio of 30,000:1 - the industry's highest - which creates better black levels further enhanced by the TV's Dual XD Engine. The TV boasts Full HD capabilities and with Fluid Motion technology that displays images at a blazingly fast 180 Hz. The PG60 also includes LG's Invisible Speakers with upgraded sound quality and a wider sweet spot.

In the meantime, the LG70 and PG70, add the ability to wirelessly stream Fully HD signals from components -Enhancing marketing capabilities and raising efficiency.
