Shell has invested a great deal of time and energy in developing meaningful partnerships and relationships with Qatari communities through a variety of social initiatives. Wheels 'n' Heels is a perfect opportunity for us to reach out to the heart of the population and contribute to ROTA's remarkable charitable efforts."

Aside from the participation circuit, Wheels 'n' Heels 2008 will also feature varieties of entertainment and surprises targeting all ages. A Lifestyle Village will be set up, aimed at offering a fairground-style area of attractions for the entire family; with side shows, demonstrations, corporate stands and bazaar-style stalls.

About Shell
Shell in Qatar
In February 2007, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Heir Apparent of the State of Qatar, laid the foundation stone for the Pearl Gas to Liquids (GTL) project. Sponsored by Qatar Petroleum (QP) and Shell, the project comprises the development of upstream gas production facilities as well as an onshore GTL plant that will produce 140,000 barrels per day of GTL products along with 120,000 bpd of condensate, liquefied petroleum gas and ethane. Pearl GTL is not only the world's largest integrated GTL project, but also the largest energy project ever launched within the borders of Qatar. In addition to this, in April 2006, QP and Shell broke ground on the Qatargas 4 LNG project that comprises upstream production of approximately 1.4 billion cubic feet (bcf) per day of natural gas, including an average of approximately 70,000 barrels per day of liquefied petroleum gas and condensate combined. Qatargas 4 also includes the construction a 7.8 million tonne-per-annum LNG train. On the shipping front, in November of last year Shell was appointed by the Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd. (Nakilat) to manage its fleet of at least 27 new LNG carriers in a 25-year deal. This agreement will involve Shell providing a range of shipping services to Nakilat including ship management as well as the transfer of know how and expertise to allow Nakilat to develop its own LNG Ship Management Company in Qatar. Shell and QP also continue negotiations on the development of a world-scale petrochemical complex in Qatar. Finally, Shell and the Qatar Foundation (QF) signed an agreement for a 10-year lease in QF's Science and Technology Park where Shell will implement a world-class technology programme.
