As Platinum Sponsor and title sponsor of its Future Theatre, Standard Chartered maintained a leading role at the Summit demonstrating its commitment to renewable energy by featuring a 100 square metre, two floor interactive exhibition stand made of recycled wooden surfaces and embedded reinforced materials in place of glass. The stand creates an unparalleled information sharing and networking environment where visitors are surrounded by natural products and environmentally sustainable materials.

The Bank is also set to host four interactive computer stands to give visitors an opportunity to calculate their carbon footprint - the amount of carbon dioxide emitted through the combustion of fossil fuels either by them or their organisation. Visitors can also take a tour of the Bank's Greatest Race On Earth website which will inform them of other sustainable initiatives in place by the Bank. Exhibition goers can instantly make pledges to the environment, which will be captured on camera, and instantly uploaded onto the mosaic wall which can also be found on the website.

"As a leading Bank celebrating 50 years in the UAE, our commitment to the local community is deeply entrenched in our approach to building a sustainable business," said Jeremy Parrish, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, Abu Dhabi & Al Ain. "We believe that our role at the Summit reinforces our global efforts to increase awareness about sustainability and demonstrates our belief and expertise in the renewable energy sector. By enabling world leaders, businesses and the local community to pledge for the environment, we can make a powerful and immediate catalyst for action."
