RTA moves Salik Gates to new Al Garhoud Bridge

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is willing to move Salik Toll gates which are located before the old Al Garhoud Bridge (Dubai - Sharjah direction) to the new Garhoud Bridge that has been recently activated.

The new Bridge will provide easy traffic flow and motorists will notice that there are 2 gates on each direction, but in fact one fee deduction will be occurred by Salik system.

Engineer Maitha Bin Adai, CEO - Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA said that the new gates are located on the top of the new Garhoud Bridge and not before it as the old gates. "The aim of locating the new gates on the top of the new bridge is to enhance the performance of Salik system, because the new Garhoud Bridge will effectively absorb the traffic load during peak hours." she added.

Bin Adai has mentioned that the new bridge contains 14 lanes and will reduce the traffic jams and serves the main objective of Salik. She also commended the technology of the system and said that Saik gates are the tallest in the world.

"RTA has not only provided integrated solutions through Salik, but for other vital projects in Dubai to convey the development drive and to attract new visitors and investments. The Authority is keen to communicate with the public and to update them on the new roads projects that are essential to enhance the roads network in the emirate". Bin Adai said.

Bin Adai has marked that the sign boards installed on the new bridge are to guide motorists to the exits located after the bridge. She also recalls all motorists to communicate with the authority through the call centre (800-72545) or visit the website www.salik.ae to get answers for their queries.
