Oger Systems, the Saudi's leading system integrator, has signed an agreement with Saudi Oger (SO) to deploy the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions provided by Oracle Systems, in a step to improve efficiency and boost performance for the latter.

It has been described as the biggest deal of its kind to be implemented in the Middle East.

This significant project comes in response to the huge growth Oger Systems has been lately witnessing. It also aims to help the company meet the increasing business demands, and go along with the world's most advanced technologies in such a way that allows it to offer world-class products and services to its clients.

"Implementing the ERP system is another example of our commitment to provide state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure services matching global standards", said Fadi El Masri, CEO of Oger Systems. He pointed out that the ERP System project will have nine divisions serving more than 23,000 users.

Spelling out the advantages of the system, he said it will Increase customer satisfaction by using improved procedures, processes and performance information.

There will also be a reduction in administrative overhead, thereby allowing the staff to concentrate on value-added activities as against transactional activities like duplicate data entry. It will also help replace existing applications and processes, thereby reducing associated overhead and retaining the necessary functionality.

The system helps generate general productivity gains to enable competitive advantage through the lowest-cost transaction processing, resulting from process improvements ( e.g. reduce the costly paper flow and speed up transactions).

Other benefits include: rationalization of multiple systems to a single common integrated architecture; common approaches to processes and master data across SO ( e.g., common chart of accounts, customers, vendors and numbering); continuous improvement to provide a fully integrated and flexible solution that allows SO to change and evolve processes and structures without technical constraints.

El-Masri said the system will also help implement a world-class reporting framework, resulting from improved data collection, database and reporting tools in order to facilitate the aggregation/desegregation of divisions/business units into any desired hierarchies.

"Modern technology plays a key role in helping companies better manage their businesses. And Oracle Solutions are certainly the excellent, efficient tool to improve the process of resources management within organizations. We are totally positive of the great benefits we'll get as a result of having Oracle ERP Solutions rolled out in our company", he added.

Oracle's ERP solutions provide a means by which multiple, heterogeneous systems can be integrated for maximum performance and efficiency. They enable companies to reduce system redundancy and increase process efficiency by providing standardized applications for a range of business areas and maximum re-use of information. The also help reduce administrative overhead, thereby allowing the staff to concentrate on value-added activities versus transactional activities like duplicate data entry.
