Four joint young professional teams of 12 Arabs and eight Germans will kick off the second 'Top Talent Camp', a joint initiative by Young Arab Leaders (YAL) UAE Chapter, the foremost development platform for business, public sector and civil society leaders in the Middle East, and the German luxury carmaker, Daimler AG.
The camp's first module launched by Daimler in Stuttgart, Germany in June 2007, followed by six month virtual team cooperation between the German and Arab young professionals.
The programme aims to provide a dynamic stage for young people to experience global business challenges in the Arab-European context and to further foster and strengthen reliable personal networks between professionals of both the regions.
Dr. Rüdiger Grube, Member of the Board of Management Daimler AG, said: "Our joint programmes are strongly supported by the dialogue between Arab and European managers from multinational companies, with focus on knowledge exchange in entrepreneurship, leadership development and education. The cooperation between Daimler and the YAL started in 2005 and its goal is to promote dialogue between Europe and the Arab world."
Elias Bou Saab, Vice-President of the American University in Dubai and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Arab-European Dialogue Forum, said: "The intensive networking between future managers from the Arab world and Europe will benefit the young professionals to help them understand how diversity is managed in different contexts and develop reliable networks through sharing common tasks.
"The Top Talent Camp provides the opportunity to prepare future leaders who can effectively reshape the way business is conducted in the fast evolving global economy."
Tariq Baker, Chairman of the Young Arab Leaders UAE Chapter and CEO of Dutco Group, said: "This unique programme is a great opportunity to bring together young business talent from Arab and European cultures to enhance personal leadership skills in a multinational environment. Young professionals are given the chance to experience global business challenges in a diverse context which will influence their thought process and development.
The UAE chapter is proud to support and sponsor such a challenging and enriching programme."
