- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, January 27 - 2008 at 10:39
- PRESS RELEASE
SolFocus, Inc., whose mission is to enable solar energy generation at cost parity with fossil fuels, announced its first major launch into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region with its exhibit at the Future World Energy Summit 2008 in Abu Dhabi.
"The abundant sunshine in the gulf region provides a tremendous source of solar energy, up to 3 times better than areas such as Germany and Japan which have built huge sustainable industries despite their limited solar resource," said Gary D. Conley, SolFocus CEO and Chairman.
"With the solar resource available in the region, solar energy generation using SolFocus technology can provide the highest energy output, highest energy density, and lowest cost of energy compared with other solar technologies. Especially important to the MENA region, SolFocus solar technology can rapidly scale to large installations, allowing renewable solar energy to become a major energy source and meet the rapidly expanding world demand."
