GII Chairman, Mr Qassim Fakhroo, said that "GII aims to be the leading centre of excellence for training, developing and promoting the profession of conventional and Islamic insurance practice in the Gulf, and will assist the region in transforming and ensuring sustainability in insurance and financial services according to international standards, through the development of its human capital."
Mr Fakhroo welcomed Ms Maddison's appointment, and she brings with her to the position over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector.
Her last position was as Executive Manager of the Bankers' Society of Bahrain. She holds an MA in Social Sciences, a BSc in Business Management and is a qualified teacher with the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry, UK.
Ms Maddison has been actively involved in the training and development in the financial services for many years, serving as a board member of the Bahrain Society for Training and Development and on the Board of Trustees of Human Resource Development Fund, banking and financial sector, Bahrain.
