Golf stars praised on Doha 2016 bid

Top European golfers competing in the Qatar Masters have given enthusiastic backing to Doha's bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games, reported Gulf Times. Golfers from more than 20 different countries played in this year's tournament hosted by the Doha Golf Club. For many top golfers, Qatar is a regular stop on the Middle Eastern leg of the European PGA tour. This year's pro-am tournament also attracted many international sports stars and celebrities, including Olympic gold medallist Carl Lewis and film star Omar Sharif.
