American Express strengthens partnership with The Leading Hotels of the World

American Express Middle East, leader in premium payment solutions, announced that it has strengthened its partnership with The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. to create exclusive hospitality offers for its cardmembers.
Peter Fawn, Head of Establishment Services Group at American Express Middle East, said: "Our core business is focused on catering to affluent consumers; this segment is driven by unique luxury experiences, underlining our strategic partnership approach with distinguished luxury providers from every industry. As we aim to be connected with the world's most prestigious brands, The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. is naturally of high relevance and we are happy to strengthen ties with them. Their wide network of luxury hotels and spas is a perfect match for meeting the sophisticated lifestyle needs of our Cardmembers."
Through the strengthened partnership between both companies, The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. will offer American Express Cardmembers special privileges on its amenities and services equivalent to 15% of the room prices, valid until 31 December 2008 at selected member hotels. This is applicable in currently over 45 participating hotels listed under www.lhw.com/youchoose. The offer is available as part of Selects, a prestigious privilege programme that provides American Express Cardmembers access to exclusive offers for travel, leisure, shopping and dining, in over 50 countries.
Commenting on the partnership, Siri-Carina Bartels, Sales & Marketing Executive, EMEA, of The Leading Hotels of the World said: "Wealth levels across the Middle East are rapidly rising and driving demand for luxury experiences. With our strong tradition in luxury hospitality services and American Express's elite Cardmembership, we believe this partnership will be beneficial in raising premium lifestyle to new levels."
Adel Al-Emadi, Regional Client Manager, Hotel and Restaurant Industries at American Express Middle East, highlighted the success of Selects: "The Selects programme enables merchants to significantly grow their business by attracting a premium clientele, such as our local and international Cardmembers, who on average spend four to five times more than on other cards."
He added that since the launch of Selects within the region in May 2006, American Express has signed a number of prestigious partners: "Premium retail and leisure merchants that share our brand values of image, high quality of products and service are fast recognising the impact of Selects on their business growth."
