Flavours of the world converge as Dubai Food Festival 2008 begins

"Food enthusiasts will find innovative activities throughout the Dubai Food Festival to enable visitors to have a different experience during every single day of the event. With some of the best chefs and restaurants participating, the Dubai Food Festival this year is an event not to be missed," she added.

This year's Festival menu features an abundance of tempting options ranging from dinners served with a side of entertainment, glitzy world records, mouth watering menus, Gourmet food tasting and demonstrations by top chefs in Dubai. Add to this a generous free tasting and fabulous dining offers.

Also on the menu will be a rich and varied feast of foods, flavors, hands-on activities and entertainment. A series of themed tents from around the world will include Sri Lankan, Lebanese, Egyptian, Jordan, Indian, Japanese, and Russian cuisines as well as local food and sweets among other international menus.

At the main tent, visitors will find talented local restaurateurs and chefs preparing their signature dishes just feet away from festival-goers as they pass from stall to stall. Interesting cooking competitions are also being held, giving people a chance to test their culinary skills. The official Kitchen sponsors for the event are Teka Kutchentechnik and Kuppersbusch. While the furniture sponsors are Cater Tech, the official distributors are the Blue Truck Company.

Among the main attractions of DSF 2008, the food extravaganza will take place between Jan 25 and Feb 2, from 4pm to 10:30pm on weekdays, and from 12pm to 4pm, and 6pm to 11:30pm on Fridays. Entrance is free for all visitors.

The Dubai Food Festival is a unique DSF event that combines food and entertainment for visitors and families. The thirteenth edition of Dubai Shopping Festival will be held between January 24 and February 24.
