- PRESS RELEASE
Jordan Telecom Group (JTG), the sole integrated operator in the Kingdom, has announced the launch of Livebox, a state-of-the-art technology from Orange that comes with the new bundles of the double play offer Surf & Talk, and will allow soon our customers to enjoy triple play (Internet, Voice over IP, and TV).
"We are excited to introduce yet another Orange innovation that enables Jordanians to communicate easier and even faster, using the latest technologies, whether they are at their homes or offices," said Mickael Ghossein. He pointed out that this step truly reflects the Group's strategy in bringing up-to-the-minute global technology to the region and delivering His Majesty King Abdullah II's vision in making Jordan a regional ICT hub.
Livebox is a WiFi modem that comes with the two new bundles of "Surf & Talk", an offer that provides ADSL access and internet connectivity as well as the ability to make local and international calls through VoIP number (0877) enabling them to enjoy discounted international calls to top routes around the world as well as per-second billing for all international routes. The bundles are available in 512 Kbps ADSL or 1Mbps ADSL packages for both residential and business customers.
Moreover, customers will be able to enjoy unlimited local and national calls as well as 20% discount on their calls to mobile networks. Customers will receive the same discounts on top routes when generating these calls from their first fixed line number.
Home Vice President Mrs. Wassila Zitoune highlighted that in addition to the technological innovation of Livebox, it is also price competitive with no upfront deposits, no modem purchase or rental fees.
The new generation Livebox brings the comfort and flexibility of a simultaneous wired and wireless internet connection for multiple users, while the phone line is in use for telephone calls. "This simultaneous multi-user functionality is one of the key features of Orange Livebox," said Mrs. Zitoune.
Customers need not only consider technological features of wireless internet, but also their safety. Livebox is safe to use at home and in the work place.
Other qualities are its high speed, simplicity, functionality and price competitiveness. The customers will also benefit with this limited edition of Livebox from a free USB WiFi adaptor so that they can connect easily non WiFi computers.
Livebox is an unparalleled technology that was globally launched by Orange in 2004, and locally in 2005 enabling customers to enjoy VoIP. Today there are more than 5 million Livebox units worldwide, indicating customers satisfaction with this multi-featured device.
Officials at Orange also announced during the press meeting that they will be launching a very high speed ADSL during this year, above 4 Mbps, enabling heavy-internet users to enjoy high broadband speeds and IPTV.
JTG has 50 well-equipped sales shops as well as a qualified field sales team, well trained and friendly customer care across the Kingdom to serve customers, ensuring internet services can be enjoyed in all Jordanian governorates.
