UAE to adopt disease alert system

The UAE will soon adopt a regional disease altert system that has been tested and deployed by the World Health Organisation, reported Khaleej Times. Dr Najeeb Al Shorbaiji, Coordinator, Knowledge Management, WHO for Eastern Mediterranean Region, said the UAE will report disease outbreaks to WHO, which will display the appropriate data and information on its website. The system has been tested and implemented in Tunisia as a pilot country.
