ConocoPhillips signs Gold Sponsorship deal for ROTA's Wheels 'n' Heels

Qatar-based NGO Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) announced that ConocoPhillips Ltd Qatar is the exclusive Gold Sponsor of its third Wheels 'n' Heels community fun day, which will take place on the 1st of February.
As part of its commitment to the local community, ROTA has held the Wheels 'n' Heels event for the last two years. Wheels 'n' Heels 2006 and 2007 have attracted over 10,000 supporters and volunteers, including international celebrities, cyclists, skaters, skateboarders, walkers and those with special needs.
The Sponsorship agreement was signed by Ms. Omnia Nour, Director of ROTA and Mr. Mike Stice, President of ConocoPhillips Ltd Qatar. The ceremony was attended by a number of representatives from ROTA and ConocoPhillips Ltd Qatar.
On behalf of ROTA, Ms. Nour expressed her enthusiasm about the signing, saying, "I would like to thank ConocoPhillips for their continuous support of this community fun day, which ranks among the most eagerly-awaited annual events in Qatar. This year is full of pleasant surprises, with high-energy stunt and myriad entertainment options for all ages, Wheels 'n' Heels 2008 promises to register record participation by the people of Qatar."
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Stice said, "We are excited about our partnership with ROTA for Wheels 'n' Heels 2008. ConocoPhillips has been associated with the event over the past two years and we are happy to take this relationship further. The fun day is a great opportunity for us to join members of the community in supporting ROTA's cause to promote education across the continent. We hope that our support will help thousands of children throughout Asia for whom quality education is still beyond reach."
In addition to the sponsorship deal, the employees of ConocoPhillips and their families will also participate in the Wheels 'n' Heels 2008 charity walk.
Wheels 'n' Heels 2008 is being organized in association with Qatar Cycling Federation. The grand finale of the prestigious Tour of Qatar will trigger the start of Wheels 'n' Heels' main event, which consists of a three kilometer stretch that people are invited to walk, wheel, rollerblade, skate or ride.
The rest of the day will feature live entertainment, fun games, interactive sports and performances by renowned singers and dancers. A Lifestyle Village will be set up, aimed at offering a fairground-style area of attractions for the entire family; with side shows, demonstrations, corporate stands and bazaar-style stalls.
The annual fun-filled event aims to involve Doha's multinational communities, reminding them and informing them about the importance of a healthy lifestyle achieved through sports and proper nutrition.
The key message of this occasion: 'Healthy body = Healthy mind'.
