Mubadala Healthcare's strategy is to partner with leading international healthcare institutions to bring best-in-class experience and expertise to the region. Already the company is working with internationally-renowned organizations such as Imperial College London, Cleveland Clinic and Siemens Medical Solutions to establish and manage facilities in Abu Dhabi and the region.
Together, the various projects, including general and multi-specialty hospitals, specialty centres of excellence, clinical support services and primary care/GP clinics, will form a vertically integrated healthcare delivery network. "We are focusing our efforts on a providing a private healthcare infrastructure where the needs of the patients are the central core," said Mark Erhart, Executive Director of Mubadala Healthcare. "The results will provide people with access to the best that the international medical community has to offer without having to travel outside the region."
Today, Mubadala and Cleveland Clinic celebrated the ground breaking of the new Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi that will be located on Al Sowa Island, across from the Abu Dhabi Mall.
In addition, Mubadala Healthcare will participate in Arab Health 2008 in Dubai this week for the first time and will be making several announcements relating to its upcoming projects, including Minhaal - the first dual-language online resource for healthcare information in the Arab world; development plans for Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi; and Phase II of the Abu Dhabi Knee and Sports Medicine Centre.
Erhart continued, "We are very excited about the partnerships we have forged with outstanding international medical institutions, our plans for the future and the benefits that our private healthcare infrastructure will bring to patients.
