Strategically located in the commercial hub of upmarket Qurum area, the cost of the project is billed at RO26m and will stretch across a Gross Leasable Area (GLA) of over 20,000 square metres. With work already in progress, Qurum City Centre currently employs over 500 construction workers and is expected to generate over 800 job opportunities, out of which 400 vacancies for Omanis.

Making the announcement, Ibrahim Al Qasmi, spokesperson for Qurum City Centre said: "Qurum City Centre is situated at prime location - in Qurum commercial area - is expected to attract a large population of shoppers from Bausher, Muttrah, Muscat and Al Amerat. The centre can be easily accessed both from the Sultan Qaboos Highway and from the soon-to-be-ready Southern Express Highway, adjacent to the mall," said Al Qasmi. He added, "The demand from retailers was very high. This is the first time in Oman that the mall is fully leased a year prior to its scheduled opening".

On completion, Qurum City Centre will house over 75 retail outlets with anchor store Carrefour and popular brands like H&M, BHS, Mango and Borders. The merchandise mix will include strong representation in key categories such as fashion, F&B and other convenience and service sectors.

The new mall will have a designated food court, convenient access to and from the mall, with more than 1000 parking lots, including a taxi pick up facility.

"Oman's retail sector is growing at a tremendous pace with more and more customers eager to explore and shop at internationally recognised stores. With Qurum City Centre we are taking the next step in meeting this demand, after our RO 22.5 million expansion endeavour for Muscat City Centre. Qurum City Centre is certain to raise the bar in shopping yet again," added Al Qasmi.
