The quick and simple health tests measured risk factors linked to some of the most serious health challenges in the Middle East.

The specially-created Mobile Health Centre at the event tested volunteers' glucose levels, blood pressure, lung capacity and Body Mass Index. The tests, conducted by three renowned clinics located at Dubai Healthcare City -binSina Pharmacy, Health Call, and American Primary Care Clinic-, were used to spot early warning signs of heart problems and diabetes, which are prevalent in the region. The tests were scientifically and medically supported and were also quick and easy to administer - each entire health check only took around 15 minutes.

'It's essential to identify any potential problems early to help prevent future disease burdens,' commented Louis Hakim, Vice President Royal Philips Electronics and Chief Executive Officer of Philips Middle East. 'That's why we at Philips believe it is vital to give people the tools they need to take responsibility for their own health. The remarkable level of take-up we've had for health checks at Arab Health clearly demonstrates that there's a strong desire from individuals in the region to find out more about their own health, which is a key step on the path to a healthier future for everyone.'

The initiative reflects Philips focus on health management outside the hospital, empowering patients to take better care of their health. It also highlights the company's commitment to improving patient care at every stage including helping diagnose health problems early to prevent future disease.
