Netgear unveils innovative service solutions at 'Enhancing eGovernment Service Delivery' seminar in Doha
- Qatar: Saturday, February 02 - 2008 at 14:27
- PRESS RELEASE
The Qatar eGovernment system has conducted more than 72,000 online transactions in 2007, as the technology-enabled scheme continues to gain popularity among more companies and individuals, according to official government statistics.
The CIO seminar, which was held on January 31, 2008 at the Sharq Village & Spa, was organised by Crimson Logic and Jaidah Group, with the support of Microsoft and Netgear.
During the seminar, Ahmad Zeidan, Channel Sales Manager, Netgear Middle East, addressed representatives from the Qatar eGovernment and prominent CIOs and members of the local IT industry, and showcased the strengths of Netgear's solutions in improving the speed of delivery of eGovernment services.
As the highlight of his keynote presentation, Zeidan underlined the value of involving Netgear in the development of the nationwide project in terms of facilitating a more dynamic infrastructure that is more accessible to the general public. In addition, the adoption of Netgear equipment will also result in lower administrative costs, thereby enabling the government to divert excess funds to support other initiatives.
"The eGovernment initiative in Qatar has proven its massive success in assisting individual and corporate citizens to accomplish time-consuming transactions with various governmental departments," said Zeidan. "With the growth in number of users, it has become more pertinent to promptly address security and data protection issues while ensuring the simplicity of these systems for users. With a clear vision to deliver solutions that will enhance accessibility to the system, our commitment lies in providing the most effective technologies to complement the objectives of this monumental project."
Leveraging its renowned innovation and technology leadership, Netgear aims to provide a selection of consumer and business networking products and solutions, which will enable greater access to the eGovernment services. Further, by leveraging potential partnerships with Internet Service Providers in Qatar and an existing comprehensive retail and distribution channel, Netgear is perfectly positioned to add value to the Qatar eGovernment's initiatives. The market leader has worked with over 50 ISPs worldwide and is gearing towards delivering the best-of-breed technology and solutions it has been reputed for.
"Ensuring that the outstanding service, which is being made available by the Qatar eGovernment system, reaches the most number of people holds as much importance as the effectiveness of the entire initiative itself. As the recognized world leader in networking solutions, we are looking forward to becoming a part of this project, which will be another important addition to our list of high profile undertakings," concluded Zeidan.
With aims of enhancing its regional reach, Netgear entered the Qatar market in January 2007 by introducing its products through its established channel distribution partners, which includes Jumbo Electronics, PC1, Al Jaidah Group and Al Jarir Bookstore. Driven by its mission to become the preferred customer-driven provider of innovative networking solutions for small businesses and homes, Netgear has achieved significant success in Qatar and has plans to expand and further entrench itself in the region.
