Excellence in Energy Awards - the industry's Oil Oscars to recognize the stars of the oil and gas industry

The Excellence in Energy Awards - the industry's Oil Oscars, will be awarded at an exclusive ceremony to leaders of the energy sector on March 6, 2008 at The Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai.

This star-studded evening will see the coming together of the region's most senior energy representatives, VIPs and dignitaries.

The prominent and established Excellence in Energy Awards - the industry's Oil Oscars, recognizes and rewards business excellence in the energy sector across the GCC region. Launched in 2002, this annual awards ceremony has seen significant growth since its debut, with over 300 companies being nominated and over 600 attending the awards ceremony. Reflecting the prestige of the event, the evening's programme will be a dynamic and entertaining ceremony for Dubai's social calendar.

For the first time a nominee voting system has been introduced to the Excellence in Energy Awards - the industry's Oil Oscars, whereby companies can nominate themselves in any of the 10 given categories. An experienced panel of independent experts have been specially appointed to carefully assess each entry. In true Oscar style, three finalists will be announced, with the winner receiving an oil Oscar from their respective category:

• Best company in Environment
• Best company in Industry and Technology
• Best company in Exploration and Production
• Best company in Business Practice
• Project of the Year
• Best company in Gas
• Overall Excellence in Energy Award
• Regional Energy Industry Award

During this sparkling red carpet event, over 1,000 guests will enjoy exclusive entertainment by 'The Rat Pack' crooners, accompanied by a swinging live jazz band from London's West End doing lively renditions of musical classics such as 'Come Fly With Me', 'Lady is a Tramp' and 'My Way'.

Reflex Publishing is also the founder of the prestigious Oil Baron's Ball, one of Dubai's biggest annual social events. This glamorous, internationally recognised ball takes place annually in Dubai and sees the crowning of the oil baron in front of more than 2,500 industry decision makers.
