Adach and Admaf sign MoU to foster cultural relations

The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (Adach) and the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (Admaf) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, with the aim to foster successful cultural relations and educational cultural events.
The 2007 events featured 80 events of the highest caliber.
His Excellency Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Director General of Adach which organizes and supports cultural, heritage and artistic events in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi -, and Her Excellency Hoda Kanoo, Founder of Admaf- a non-profit organisation dedicated to the development of arts, culture and education in Abu Dhabi- signed an agreement, which states that Adach will provide Admaf with the support it needs to organize high level Cultural event.
Both parties continuously contribute to the growth of the cultural scene in Abu Dhabi by bringing high-calibre events to the capital, and have revealed that they will hold more than 100 events in visual, performing arts and education in 2008. Most notable is the annual Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Festival, Under the Patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, one of the most prominent festivals in the region and the world. In 2008, the Festival will present world famous conductors, opera singers & musicians such as: London Philharmonic Orchestra Vladimir Jurowski (Conductor); Nicolaj Znaider (Violin); London Philharmonic Orchestra Vladimir Jurowski (Conductor); Jean-Yves Thibaudet (Piano); Khaled Selim and Asmma Almonaoar plus Orchestra and Saeed Kamal (Conductor); Bolshoi Ballet & Orchestra / Pavel Sorokin (Conductor); Anna Netrebko (Soprano), Elina Garanca (Mezzo) and Erwin Schrott (Baritone) with Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra / Alexander Vedernikov (Conductor); Sarah Chang and Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra; Karel Chichon (Conductor); Naseer Shamma with Oriental Orchestra; Hiba Al Kawas (Opera singer/composer) / José Maria Gallardo del Rey (Guitar) / Bolshoi Orchestra.
In the world of Art it will feature Nja Mehdaoui, the leading Arab artist of the century.
Adach is a non-profit government authority entrusted to preserving and enhancing the heritage and culture of Abu Dhabi Emirate. It was founded per law No. 28 of the year 2005 on October 14, 2005. Adach began its activities in February 2006 per a decree that appointed Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan as Chairman and a Board of Directors that comprises of distinguished intellectuals. It was founded to carry out a strategy, devised by a team of experts and supervised by UNESCO, which aims to conserve the cultural heritage of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Admaf is a non-profit organisation established in 1996, under the Patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, to promote classical music, art and education among residents and UAE nationals in Abu Dhabi. It holds cultural, artistic and educational events at local and international organisations, institutes and centres of culture.
