- PRESS RELEASE
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders organized a seminar to enhance cooperation between the Establishment's Government Procurements Programme member companies and officials of government departments.
The participants renewed their commitment to support the SME sector as directed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and continue to ensure at least five per cent of annual government procurements are allocated to the SME sector.
Ebtehal Al Nagy, Director of Governmental Procurements Programme in the Establishment, said: "The seminar is a vital step towards opening up communication channels with government officials for the benefit of SME members. It significantly assisted the members in interacting with the officials and identifying challenges that could be jointly addressed.
"The seminar provided a platform for Government officials to give details about the procedures followed by procurement administrations and for member Establishment companies to highlight their various competences. It helped both groups to understand each other's requirements and supply schedules."
During the seminar members of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders also offered suggestions to further widen communications with officials.
The Governmental Procurement Programme is one of the key initiatives launched by the Establishment to help the SME sector. The programme seeks to enhance the capabilities of UAE national entrepreneurs and promote their competitiveness.
