The summit, which takes place in Dubai on 16-17 February 2008, looks set to be a hugely successful event, following confirmation that the summit will feature a strong delegation of senior Iraqi officials, including Ministers, Deputies and Director Generals.
The event will focus heavily on Iraq's defence, security & communications requirements, welcoming an unrivalled ministerial delegation led by H.E. Abdul Qadir Obeidi, Iraqi Minister of Defence. Representatives from the Iraqi Ministries of Defence, Interior, National Security, KRG Interior and KRG Peshmerga Affairs will be holding private face-to-face meetings with attending delegates over the course of the two days, while officials from the Ministries of Communications and Science & Technology will also be attending to discuss the technical services and solutions required for the defence and security sectors.
There will also be a strong presence from the US Department of Defence, with Deputy Under Secretary of Defence for Business Transformation Paul Brinkley leading a high level delegation to meet with key contractors and discuss potential commercial opportunities within Iraq. Senior US Government officials will also be attending from the Joint Contracting Command-Iraq, Multi-National Forces-Iraq and US Embassy Baghdad.
The summit will welcome senior executives from the leading global defence contractors, including the likes of Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, SAIC, General Dynamics, ITT, DRS, Bell, Harris, Oshkosh, EADS, L-3, QinetiQ, Agility, DynCorp, Aegis, EODT and Zain.
