The Iranian artist's solo exhibition is part of Qanat Al Qasba's cultural events portfolio programmed for this year. The exhibition will continue until February 9, from 10am to 10pm daily.
At the opening yesterday, His Excellency was accompanied by Abdullah Al Owais, general manager of the Department of Culture and Information, Marwan Al Sarkal, CEO of Qanat Al Qasba Development Authority, Hisham Al Madhloum, Head of the Directorate of Art and a number of visitors and media.
Dina Al Nakhi Events Manager at Qanat Al Qasba Development Authority said, 'At Qanat Al Qasba we constantly seek to link with the wide representation of nationalities, and age groups of our visitors with unique events that will cater to every interest. As part of our cultural programme, this exhibition of artist Pegah Valizad that represents some exceptional Iranian talent will no doubt attract the attention of many visitors to QAQ.'
Pegah Valizad who is currently displaying 55 paintings is a young and innovative Iranian artist who started painting 15 years ago. Specialising in capturing images that bespeak the many agonies inflicted upon nature, her works include a wide array of landscapes. Some of her exhibits also laud her as a fine calligrapher in both Arabic and Farsi.
The owner and manager of an art gallery in Tehran, and an art teacher at a leading institute, Valizad has held art exhibitions in a number of countries including the UAE, Iran, Qatar and India. With A passion for teaching she believes that hers is a gift from God. Said Valizad, 'I like to teach arts and am happy to teach whoever has the passion and love to learn it. Although most of my students are teenagers, there are even a number a number of senior citizens in my classes who enjoy learning at all levels and medium. I believe a lot of the credit to who I am today goes to my parents and teacher.'
Having graduated from the Islamic Iranian University, Valizad has an appreciation certificate from the minister of Iran and Qatar.

Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority, inaugurated the Pegah Valizad Art Exhibition yesterday at the Marya Al Qanat Gallery Hall at Qanat Al Qasba.
