Several UAE Nationals recruited as Public Relations Officers during Tanmia's open day

Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority, has announced the recruitment of several UAE Nationals registered in its database, as Public Relations Officers (PROs), during the open day it organised recently at the Al Tawar Public Library in Dubai.

The candidates, who have received extensive training from Tanmia, have been employed by leading public and private sector companies in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) and Dubai Police, that attended the Open Day.

Feddah Lootah, Acting General Manager, Tanmia Office in Dubai, said, "The Open Day served as the perfect platform for companies looking to hire PROs, to interact with the pool of UAE National job seekers and recruit the most suitable candidates. We are pleased with the response generated by the Open Day, especially from private sector companies, and we are glad that so many Nationals have found suitable employment as PROs."

Companies that took part in the Open Day included Emirates Building Systems LLC, Options Furniture Center LLC, Ideas & Touches Décor, Terra Verde LLC, Parson Brinkerhoff, Datco, Trans Field Power and Construction, Galadari Brothers Company LLC, Al Habtoor Motors, and PRO Outsource Service.

Tanmia regularly conducts sessions to brief National jobseekers about various aspects of the role of PROs. The PRO training sessions cover topics such as office management, communication, customer service excellence, etiquette, report writing, body language, and residency and labour laws.

About Tanmia

Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development & Employment Authority in the UAE, was established by a Presidential decree in November 1999, to address the imbalance in the labour market, due to excessive dependence on expatriate workforce. Tanmia is engaged in a coordinating role, between national job seekers and employers in the private and government sectors, to facilitate increased entry of nationals in the labour market. The responsibilities that rest with the Authority are: to set up the overall policy of the Authority and supervise its implementation, conduct sustained operational and administrative labour market studies and analysis, provide career counseling and guidance to the national work force, follow-up and evaluate employment of nationals in public and private sectors, support small investment enterprises through the establishment of self-employment projects for national human resources and develop programmes for training and qualifying nationals seeking employment, in conformity with the labour market needs.
