Jazeera Airways launches jazeeraairways.com Lite

Jazeera Airways, the region's fastest growing airline, announced the launch of jazeeraairways.com Lite - a 'slimmed down' version of the airline's website, in response to a drastic slow down of internet connectivity in the Middle East from damage to two under sea cables in the Mediterranean Sea last week.

The airline has worked to overcome the problem of slow internet speeds - as felt by millions across the Middle East- by optimising the website for extremely fast loads.

Telecom operators and internet providers in the region had previously estimated that the slow internet speeds - currently causing major slowdowns for businesses and individuals throughout the region - will continue for at least another 10 to 15 days, meaning widespread disruption as users battle to continue their everyday work.

In addition to jazeeraairways.com Lite, the airline has 'slimmed down' airfares from Kuwait and Dubai to Beirut and Bahrain.

Marwan Boodai, Jazeera Airways' Chairman and CEO said; "More than 60% of our customers book online, so we had to react quickly and continue to deliver freedom of online booking - even with the unusually slow internet speeds.

"The Lite version of jazeeraairways.com, which is only 16 kilobytes in size, loads in less than 4 seconds on very slow connections and with super low fares from just 1 KD, we're giving our customers even more freedom to travel. Just as soon as connectivity speeds are back to normal, jazeeraairways.com, with all the fat, will be back online."

Jazeeraairways.com attracts almost 5 million hits a month from across the Middle East.
