Bavarian Minister leads strong delegation at Arab Health

The Free State of Bavaria, in southern Germany, was represented with 85 medical technology companies, clinics and rehabilitation centres at the exhibition, the largest group of all German federal countries.

Müller said: 'With its companies and clinics, Bavaria impressively displays its competency in the field of medical technology and healthcare. This strong representation highlighted the excellent global reputation of Bavaria as a medical technology and healthcare location.'

Every year, thousands of Arab visitors travel to Bavaria to receive high-level medical treatment. In medical technology the State ranks at the top of the international league table. More than 20,000 highly qualified staff are employed in the region making it a healthcare area of excellence and medical destination of choice. Moreover, as much as 70% of Bavaria's medical technology is exported and again the Middle East is an important market for the southern German state.

Minister Müller also supports Bavarian companies that are operating in the Middle East. 'The Gulf States are also investing enormous resources into healthcare and with our technological know-how and innovative products, Bavarian companies can benefit from this immensely,' she added.

Organised by IIR Middle East, Arab Health is one of the world's leading trade fairs for medical technology and healthcare. This year, more than 2,200 companies from a total of 65 countries took part presenting their medical technologies and methods of treatment. More than 50,000 visitors attended the four-day event.
