Perhaps the relaxed, congenial mood at the event on day two had something to do with the highly-successful O Celebrates, held at the end of day one. This informal gathering brought the curtains down on a successful opening day, with stunning lighting, international artists and delectable gourmet meals enhancing the occasion.
It gave the biggest names in the industry a chance to let their hair down and celebrate their success, with a toast to greater achievements in the days and years to come.
There was a lot in store for anyone remotely connected to office furniture and interior design on the second day. Leading the way was the much-anticipated Business by Design workshop hosted by Fred Berns, perhaps the biggest name in the business of interior design. This inspirational sales and marketing coach, author and professional speaker trains design trade professionals across the globe in the fine art of using self-promotion to increase sales, and his four-session workshop right through the day was worth every minute for all those privileged to be a part of it.
A host of diverse seminars and lectures by some of the most prominent names in the field were also a part of the Workplace Freedom Seminar on day two. How to Create Space for Innovation by Buckhard Remmers, the head of International Marketing and PR at Wilkhahn, Colour and Texture at Work by Rachel Savage, the project designer at CitySpace and Lighting for Indoor Workplaces by Juliette Van Putten, the technical director at IN-Lite were just a few of the useful seminars held across the day.
Over 250 exhibitors are a part of Office 2008, and amongst them were All Steel and Steelcase from the USA and Koleksiyon and Flekssit from Turkey, all giants in their own right within the industry.
Ms. Paula Al Chami, Director of Office Exhibition 2008, was extremely thrilled with the turn-out.
"It says a lot about the event when the best in the business make their presence felt at the event. It distinguishes the best from the rest, and it has been extremely good to see such a prominent turnout at this year's show, from both exhibitors as well as trade visitors. We are very happy with the response we have received,"
she said.
As they say, all good things must come to and end, and with lots more in store on day three including the highly anticipated Frezza students awards, it looks like Office Exhibition 2008 is headed towards a grand finale. For those connected to the industry, it's one last chance to be a part of the biggest exhibition of its kind in the region, or wait for another whole year.
