Batelco eyes overseas markets
- Bahrain: Tuesday, February 05 - 2008 at 13:30
Bahraini telecom Batelco to further expand its overseas operations because of a decline in revenue locally, reported Gulf Daily News. The company's revenue increased by 25% last year, but the growth in Bahrain was only 7%, according to Batelco's chief executive Peter Kaliaropoulos. He said the overall market growth in Bahrain is 'limited', is looking at expanding its operations in the Middle East and North Africa, and possibly also the Indian Sub-continent. Besides Bahrain, Batelco now has operations in Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait and Yemen.
