The "Abu Dhabi, the ancient and the modern" exhibition is organized by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), in partnership with Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO).

Mohammed Al Katheeri, ADAC Deputy Chief Operating Officer, said "At a time when Abu Dhabi is heading towards yet another spectacular era in its development, a look into the past would tell vividly how far we have come. And this can not be demonstrated more eloquently than through pictures.

ADAC is pleased to play host to this important exhibition which narrates the miraculous growth of Abu Dhabi, a story that should serve as an inspiration for the young generation."

Ahmed Bani Hashim, ADCO Public Affairs Manager, said "We are very pleased to partner with ADAC in this show which chronicles the great achievements Abu Dhabi has scored so far."

"Being both a witness to and a key player in the development of Abu Dhabi, ADCO is very keen on documenting this process for the benefit of future generations," he added.

The exhibition features some rare pictures of the early oil explorations, and the beginnings of construction work on what was to become some of Abu Dhabi's landmarks, such as the Al Maqtaa Bridge, the Hilton Abu Dhabi Hotel, etc.

The exhibition runs thru the 10th of February, 2008 in the hallway leading to the transit area of Terminal 1.
