Hilton appoints Director of International Sales for Arabian peninsula

Hilton Hotels Corporation (HHC) today announced the appointment of as Director of International Sales for its UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman operations, based at the company's Area office in Dubai.

Guy Epsom, Regional Director of Sales & Marketing, Arabian Peninsula & Indian Ocean said, "In his new role, Bonafous will be responsible for driving international sales strategy from the Arabian Peninsula outbound to our hotels globally. His core responsibilities will extend to the management and development of Hilton's regional portfolio of accounts, while focusing on the pricing as well as positioning strategies with existing partners. His role has added significance in highlighting the Hilton Family of Brands internationally."

In addition, Frenchman Bonafous will oversee further growth of the hospitality major's immensely popular and award-winning Hilton For Free programme. The summer promotion campaign has expanded every year with additional Hilton holiday destinations being included to provide an extensive choice to travellers from the Middle East.

Bonafous said, "The hospitality industry in the region is growing exponentially, generating tremendous global interest. With a strong line-up of products, new destination development strategies and value-added incentive programmes, 2008 will be a promising year for us, we are predicting a 25% growth of outbound travel from the region. I am very excited to be taking on this role with so many new hotels and destinations to promote in our worldwide portfolio."

Beginning his career with Hilton in 1999 in Paris, Bonafous boasts a results- oriented career path, marked by consistent professional growth. In his most recent position as Sales Manager in Paris, he was responsible for the Middle East and Indian markets in addition to diplomatic business sales. The position helped him develop a profound understanding of the Middle East, foster long-term relationships with key accounts and experience the highly competitive environment first hand. A graduate from Institut Vatel Paris, Bonafous is fluent in French and English with a working knowledge of Spanish. He moves to Dubai from France with his wife and two children.
