Batelco Hearts & Minds Committee held a special event for 50 special needs people at Al Rahma Centre recently.
The entertainment programme, which included lunch, face painting and games with prizes for all the participants, was led by a DJ. A special focus of the event was the celebration of birthdays for a number of those attending who were born in December.
In June last year (2007) Batelco donated BD100,000 to Al Rahma Centre to provide support for their premises located in Riffa. The Al Rahma Centre houses the Batelco Recreational Centre, built from previous donations from the telecom company. The recreation centre is equipped with a wide range of equipment suited to the needs of the centre's attendees.
"As a successful enterprise with deep roots in Bahraini society, we are committed to supporting such worthy causes as Al Rahma Centre," said Batelco Corporate Affairs General Manager Ahmed Al Janahi.
"We were delighted to provide entertainment for those who attend Al Rahma Centre to add a special focus to their lives."
"Batelco Hearts & Minds Committee was formed during 2007 as part of Batelco's commitment to the community."
"As well as contributing financially to a wide range of health, education, sports and cultural projects, Batelco staff through the Hearts & Minds committee volunteer their time to become involved in a variety of charitable causes," said Mr. Al Janahi.
