The event held during a round-table discussion followed by a luncheon was to underline ways of increasing cooperation and fostering relations between the two parties.
The opening note was given by the president of the Italian Business Council, Ottavia Molinari who welcomed Brig Al Marri and praised his relentless efforts and dedication towards attaining the highest standards of customer service, and simplifying procedures that have impacted tourism and business in a positive way. Molinari said: 'The UAE continues to be Italy's largest business partner in the Arabian Gulf since 1999, and over 155 Italian companies are operating in Dubai'.
Brigadier Al Marri started with an introduction of the various value-added services provided to residents and visitors such as the e-form, where residents can apply for on-line visas. He also mentioned Amer service where complaints are logged onto the system through a hotline (8005111) and callers can get connected to DNRD's Director upon request for solving any matter. Al Marri presented Jadded service that reminds customers of any transaction they need to finalize by means of SMS as well as other services that can be explored by logging to www.dnrd.ae.
DNRD's expansion plan was also revealed as part of the department's objective to serve as many customers as possible all over Dubai. Al Marri was especially thorough when presenting the services offered to establishments and businesses via the main DNRD branch in Jaffiliya and the different offsite offices.
The attendance included a number of businessmen representing prestigious Italian companies in Dubai who expressed their surprise and genuine appreciation of Brigadier Al Marri's initiative to engage with partners and customers. They have also reiterated DNRD's efforts in reaching out to their stakeholders and offering prompt solutions to any arising issues. The attendees commented on the efficiency of DNRD's staff that perform their duties in a speedy manner and operate during public holidays. Others observed DNRD's adoption of best practices aiming at enhancing customer service standard.
According to Brigadier Al Marri: 'The Department of Naturalization and Residency plays an essential role in maintaining the safety and security of Dubai thus creating a healthy environment for the growth of businesses in our country We are keen to continue listening to all our strategic partners like business councils, consulates, private establishments and others who play a big role in boosting UAE's economy'.
DNRD strengthens ties with business councils in Dubai
Out of strong belief in maintaining close ties with the strategic partners, Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director of Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department (DNRD) and his deputy Colonel Obeid Bin Suroor, met with members of the Italian Business Council in Dubai.
