The Channel will be broadcasting a seven hour election special from 2300 GMT on Tuesday night, anchoring it's programme from Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Doha. Al Jazeera English's correspondents will be reporting from the key locations in the United States and from candidate's campaign headquarters. A full results service will be provided from the Channel's HQ, and analysis from its broadcast centres in London, Kuala Lumpur, and Washington DC with a variety of guests throughout the night.

As well as providing coverage of all the events of the night, and comprehensive analysis from the US and around the world, Al Jazeera English will also provide a unique focus on the international reaction to the results. The Channel will give a fresh perspective on a news story which will ultimately have worldwide impact.

Speaking about the coverage plans Al Jazeera English's Managing Director, Nigel Parsons stated, "Our coverage plans really highlight our distinct approach in contrast with other Networks. While we too are covering the election coast to coast, we are bringing a unique, global perspective to the event. Why should people in Venezuela, Somalia, or Palestine care about this election? We ask that question, and provide a platform for people to debate and discuss how this election matters to them".

Al Jazeera English's coast-to-coast coverage demonstrates the Channel's strength in US coverage with a fresh perspective on the presidential race.
