Dubai eGovernment recently revealed that over 1,700 online services have been launched in different government departments, or a phenomenal 81% digital adoption rate of the more than 2,300 government services in Dubai. Key highlights of 2007 also include an ISO 9001:2000 quality certification and an award for being the 'Best eGovernment Programme in the Middle East' during the Leaders Summit.
Salem Al Shair, eServices Director, Dubai eGovernment, said,
"Dubai eGovernment's exceptional performance has been in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, to speed up the digital transformation of government services in the emirate. While we are pleased to have made rapid strides of progress in terms of implementation of various eServices in Dubai's government departments, we are also eager to share our knowledge and expertise with regional governments to facilitate the creation of a robust digital society, and our participation in events like InfoConnect 2008 is in keeping with this objective."
