Dubai is a metropolis that is growing upwards and outwards, and in line with this, young Emiratis are putting their best foot forward to ensure that this city presents its best face.

The students commented that with the fast changing face of Dubai, they had a responsibility to be actively involved in not only the preservation of Dubai's heritage, but also the conservation of Dubai's environment now and into the future.

The increasing population of Dubai consumes many products usually packaged in some way. However, many times this packaging is disposed of in an inappropriate manner - discarded in our parks and on our streets. An awareness of our environment must be nurtured, encouraging personal responsibility.

With such a developing awareness, personal responsibility for our immediate community also needs to be instilled; a growing sentiment among the students of Dubai Men's College. Everyone should behave in a manner that is an example and guides those for whom we are responsible to discard our rubbish in a responsible manner. Further activities akin to 'Clean Up the World' must be encouraged to educate and re-educate the whole community so a sense of personal responsibility develops for our precious environment.

Hassan Khabbazeh, Chair of IT at Dubai Men's College reiterated this saying 'This project gave our students the opportunity to be involved in a community effort and to be role models to the international citizens of Dubai'.
