"We are moving from a period in which communications was merely a utility with cost as the most important criteria, into an era of Intelligent Communications - in which advanced communications capabilities can fundamentally transform a company's business processes. Avaya platforms are built on open standards in order to support and integrate with the financial services industry applications that best suit each firm's unique operational requirements. MEFTEC provides us with a platform to showcase these solutions and meet financial technology professionals from the across the region,"
explains Nidal Abou-Ltaif, managing director of Avaya in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.
"With growing global as well as regional competition and shorter business cycles, some of the regions' most powerful and influential banks rely on Avaya's Intelligent Communications solutions to transform their business processes, and gain competitive advantage. Technologies such as IP telephony, Web services and service-oriented architecture (SOA) -can play a pivotal role in furthering the business strategies of companies," added Abou-Ltaif.
Across the financial services sector, Avaya provides communications technologies that enable financial professionals, contact center agents, branch bank managers, risk and compliance officers and others, to work more efficiently and effectively. Emirates Bank, American Express, EFG Hermes, Arab National Bank and National Bank of Abu Dhabi are just a few examples of Avaya's growing portfolio of customers in the region's financial sector.
"Avaya's one-X Quick Edition provides enterprises with a broad set of choices to meet their particular branch requirements. With the availability of Avaya's one-X Quick Edition in MENA, banks and other financial institutions will be able to benefit from its simplicity, for it's an easy to order, install and manage solution," concluded Abou-Ltaif.
one-X Quick Edition is a plug-and-play solution with system intelligence based in each Quick Edition IP phone. It is a professional phone system tailored to the needs of small businesses or branches of large enterprises supporting the most commonly used telephony applications including voicemail, conferencing and auto-attendant. All the intelligence is built into the phones themselves, simplifying set-up and ongoing management. "Peer-to-peer" technology (in which all the phones connect into each other rather than into a central PBX server) eliminates the single point of failure of traditional systems. Each Quick Edition phone backs up the others' features, so if one phone fails the others continue to work.
If business needs change or functionality requirements outgrow the capabilities of the system, Avaya's one-X Quick Edition offers businesses the flexibility to migrate to more advanced solutions such as Avaya IP Office or Avaya Communication Manager. This enables businesses to reuse the Avaya 4600 series IP handsets with these other systems.
Avaya is located at stand T9 at MEFTEC 2008.
